Have you been battling with inhibited growth? Then this post is for you because I’ve been there but not anymore.
I’m not here to tell you that your natural hair will grow overnight. NO. I am here to give you tips on how to facilitate quicker hair growth.
Before I became a naturalista, I battled inhibited growth as well. My hair of 7 years couldn’t grow past my nape.
This challange made me to cut off my hair in April and I’ve promised to share the journey with my esteemed readers.
HOW I GREW MY HAIR FASTER IN 2 MONTHS
1. Eat water melon
I used to have strong dislike for watermelon until I realized it’s benefits on natural hair.
Water melon contains vitamins A, B6 and C which is very essential to growing healthy strands. It also contains arginine that helps with more blood circulation in the scalp which in turn translates to improved hair growth.
Moisturizing your hair makes it healthy and enables it to grow long. Shea butter is a good moisturizer. You can also invest in a good moisturizing condition. I will always recommend O’Naturals leave-in conditioner.
3. Easy on the protective styles
Don’t get me wrong, protective styles help the hair to grow faster and prevents breakage but tucking your hair in tight braids all the time will damage your strands from the roots. I prefer low-manipulation styles like two strand twist or inverted conrows.
4. Invest in peppermint oil
When I tell people that I grew my hair with peppermint oil, they think it’s a hype. No it is not! Peppermint oil stimulates hair growth and the smell is amazing. You can order yours here
5. Jamaican black castor oil
JBCO is a life-saver. This thick carrier oil helped me to grow my damaged frontal hair and it helps the hair to be more fuller.
If your hair is scanty, then it is time to get a bottle of JBCO. It is very thick so you might want to invest a spritz bottle
to get it diluted. You can read the preparation and contents of my spritz bottle here
6. Drink water
If you don’t like drinking plain water, then add either cucumber, ginger or garlic. They all have tremendous health benefits and it’s very good for growing healthy mane.
